The objective of this project is to support safe emergency evacuation on Centennial Drive if a landslide or wildfire would occur. Currently numerous trees near Centennial Dr. can fall across the road and block traffic or burn with such intensity that passage is prohibited during a wildfire.

Curtailment 2018-19 Energy Savings Report

This year the UC Berkeley Campus curtailed buildings over the winter holiday for 12 days, from December 21st through January 1st. The Energy Office worked with the EMS group, stationary engineers, and the electric shop to curtail 75 buildings. In total curtailment saved 871,000 kWh and 1,420,000 lbs of steam. Compared to the prior 12 day comparison period, electric use was 14% lower and steam use was 21% lower when normalized for weather. New plan review and permit process for construction work

Following a year of process development by a working group from across campus, starting on July 1st, 2018, all construction projects on campus will be required to submit for and receive a permit prior to starting construction.
