Landscape Services

The Landscape Services group provides landscape maintenance services including irrigation, hillside fire mitigation, landscape maintenance, street sweeping, contract management, and consultation.

Landscape Services Responsibilities

Gardeners will begin leaf blowing hardscape throughout the campus until 8:00 AM to remove litter, leaf droppings, and cuttings. Gardeners work on landscaping maintenance in their designated sectors - East, West, and Union.

Landscape projects are completed according to campus priorities, seasonal needs, and maintenance needs.

  • Gardening and landscape maintenance
  • Installation of new landscape projects
  • Seasonal flood mitigation (cleaning drains)
  • Creek Maintenance
  • Leaf-blowing and resolution of outdoor health and safety issues.

Priority in all Landscaping Zones

  • Eliminate/mitigate any dangerous conditions that may exist on campus landscapes.
  • “A” (emergency) tags should be addressed within 24 hours.
  • Remove impediments on staircases, walkways, and ramps.
  • Trim trees, shrubs, & groundcovers to improve asightlines & plant.
  • Work orders and other landscaping priorities will be addressed as they come in.
  • Manual mowing & detailing will be done on a bi-weekly schedule.
  • Manual irrigation will occur on a weekly or as-needed basis, depending on the weather.
