Our Access Specialists manages mechanical and electronic lock and key systems across campus with a focus on security and safety of our campus community, our team is dedicated to keeping these systems operational and up to date at all times.

The Preventative Maintenance (PM) team maintains campus equipment in satisfactory condition through conducting routine inspection and maintenance on any campus equipment defects. They ensure that equipment is efficiently running and report any malfunctions to prevent system failures. The PM team is responsible for maintaining extensive building systems and life safety databases that track the frequency of preventive maintenance and their required services.

The Fire Life Safety team works to ensure that fire protection systems in buildings are properly functioning in order to effectively evacuate campus buildings in case of emergency. Fire alarm technicians inspect buildings and generate reports on the fire alarm systems to be given to the fire marshall. Upon inspection, fire alarm electricians conduct repairs as needed to the fire alarm systems. Preventive maintenance plumbers assist in inspecting and testing the fire sprinkler systems and backflow devices.

Abatement provides project management for all asbestos and lead related campus projects. Our Insulators assist with the removal of asbestos and or lead containing building materials. The roofers provide inspections and repairs on roofs. They also clean roof drains, roof gutters, and downspouts, and perform waterproofing.

Custodial Services provides comprehensive housekeeping and facility support for public spaces, offices, laboratories, restrooms, and classrooms across the UC Berkeley campus. Our unit delivers a wide range of cleaning, maintenance, and event-support services, caring for more than 11 million square feet of academic, administrative, athletic, and auxiliary facilities.

The Landscape Services group provides landscape maintenance services including irrigation, hillside fire mitigation, landscape maintenance, street sweeping, contract management, and consultation.

Maintenance Operations Services offers an affordable and simple way to get your office refreshed! The Office Refresh program is available to any office no greater than 12 x 15 square feet. We have standard preset design palettes that our customers can select. The fixed cost is $5,800 per project; however, an estimate may be provided depending on larger offices, different design palettes, and the scope of the project.

The Watch & Night Operations Group provides the campus community with 24 hour, 7 days a week service and with Stationary Engineering services.
