FS colleagues:
Once again, thanks to all of you for your participation in the many sessions on Maximo implementation since February. The Genesis team is extremely appreciative of the input, creativity and engagement which you have brought to these sessions.
Updates:
- Business processes - We wrapped up with our future business process sessions last week. All the discussions and decisions we have taken collectively during the business process sessions are being documented as future process maps and requirements which will be approved before we move into the design phase. These will be living documents and are expected to change until the go-live. Our work in the business process sessions has established the overall structure of how we will use Maximo but we still may make minor modifications such as additions/deletions to decisions already made.
- Data - Genesis is currently producing templates for our asset data. Many of us will be working very closely with the technical lead going forward to gather and finalize the data. Our goal is to transfer as much clean data as we can to Maximo.
- Focus groups for mobile devices – We will be meeting with various shops in early May to share handheld device options for Maximo. Your feedback with this is extremely valuable and will help make our system successful.
- Demonstration Site - We now have a demonstration site ready for you to login to and explore. The environment is a playground that gives you the chance to get a look and feel of Maximo. It does not contain any UC Berkeley-specific data, and may look different from our final Maximo design, which is not yet confirmed. Click here for details on how to login to the demo site.
We will keep you informed with details and updates on Maximo. You can always find the latest information on the project website at http://realestate.berkeley.edu/reit/systems/maximo.
A special email account has also been created to manage updates -- if you have any questions, concerns, or comments, please send them to maxupdates@berkeley.edu
This is our opportunity to create an effective tool for Facilities Services and your participation is crucial and very much appreciated.
