In 2014, several UC Berkeley students received a TGIF grant in order to work on a campus Plastic Disclosure project dedicated to looking at the university’s plastic footprint by determining where our plastics came from and where they end up, while also creating a long-term plan to reduce unnecessary plastic use.
In light of UC Berkeley signing onto the new Single-Use Plastics Elimination Policy, the assessments and audits from the existing PDP project can be used as a foundation to find alternatives to plastics.
