Cal Zero Waste manages over 25 tons of solid waste throughout campus daily and is committed to advancing reducing, reusing, recycling, and composting programs while providing effective collection services.

Sustainable Campus Management operationalizes sustainability at UC Berkeley by transforming high-level environmental goals into the coordinated, daily habits of the campus's essential service teams. Under Facilities Services, the Sustainable Campus Operations unit acts as the connective tissue, uniting custodial services, waste management, events management, and landscaping, to help achieve zero waste and reduce UC Berkeley's carbon footprint.

The Landscape Services group provides landscape maintenance services including irrigation, hillside fire mitigation, landscape maintenance, street sweeping, contract management, and consultation.

Since its inception in 1973, The Department of Integrated Pest Management has used I.P.M. practices to address a wide variety of urban pests. As noted in our mission statement, "Our stated goal is to rely upon environmentally safe techniques, including sanitation, habitat and structural modification, education, biological controls..." as alternatives to pesticides.
