Zero Waste Athletics

Cal Zero Waste partners with Cal Athletics to bring waste education and diversion efforts to the large-scale football and basketball games held on campus. In previous football and basketball seasons, Cal participated in the PAC-12 Zero Waste Bowl (football) and PAC-12 Road to Zero Waste Competitions (basketball). All PAC-12 campuses competed against each other in zero waste and are ranked in a few categories: Waste Diversion, Partnerships and Innovation.

Cal was the 5-time champion (2015-2019) of the Overall Winner category in the PAC-12 Road to Zero Waste Competition. In the 2019 season, Cal received the Student Athlete Engagement award as well!
