Inclusive Restrooms

UC Berkeley is engaged in an ongoing process to provide restroom facilities that serve the needs of all members of our community to create an inclusive campus environment. While gender inclusive restrooms are now part of campus standards and are included in new campus buildings, converting existing multi-stall restrooms takes additional resources, so these projects are completed over time based on feasibility and available funding.

Facilities Services supports the growth of the Gender Inclusive Restroom initiative as an important priority and offers a funding partnership for restroom conversion cost-sharing. This partnership helps expand access to inclusive restrooms across campus.

A link to a map of existing gender inclusive single-stall and multi-stall restrooms, accessible restrooms, menstrual product dispensers, and changing tables at UC Berkeley can be found below. Accompanying the map are collapsible, text-based lists that provide the same information.

Please note that the map is in the process of being updated to reflect current campus gender inclusive restroom data. The Gender Inclusive Restrooms team of students and staff are surveying all buildings on campus on an ongoing basis.
