Systems and Services

FS IT manages a variety of systems related to project and work order management, Real Estate operations, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), mapping, and drawings. Details on each of these systems are provided below. Information and links to common campus systems are also detailed below.

Maximo Project

The IBM® Maximo® Asset Management suite has been selected as the replacement for the Asset Management and Facilities Services current work order system (SPAN & Dynalogic). Maximo is industry-leading, comprehensive solution for managing physical assets.  on a common platform in asset-intensive industries. In addition, the system will enable web and mobile access for AM-FS staff and clients.

Unifier Project Management System

Unifier is a cloud-based project management system. Unifier provides a new management system of record for design and construction contracts pursuant to the Regents' Delegation of Authority, as the sub-ledger to BFS for capital project accounting. A key benefit to Unifier is its ability to pay design and construction vendors by creating a voucher in Unifier and uploading the data to BFS. Unifier provides Real Estate with the means and methods to fulfill its duties to bid, award and administer design and construction contracts and eliminate the dual entry into two systems.

FS Remote Desktop

The FS Remote Desktop provide access to FS-specific applications and reporting systems. This desktop may be accessed from any location and requires authenitication with your Calnet ID.  Access to this system is restricted to FS users.

 To access the remote desktop, you will need to first download the RDP file:

C&D Remote Desktop

The C&D Remote Desktop provide access to the PRISM project management system, standard MS Office applications, and user (U Drive) files.  This desktop may be accessed from any location and requires authenitication with your Calnet ID.

bConnected Productivity Suite

The University provides online communication tools such as bMail, bCal, bDrive, Box, and CalShare for faculty, staff, and students to share information and easily collaborate across campus.

Software Licensing

Did you know that Cal faculty and staff have a variety of collaboration, communication, and cloud-based collaboration services available at no cost? Through your bConnected account, you can access cloud-based services such as Google Apps, Box, Adobe, and Microsoft products, as well as security related software.
