Zero Waste Programs

Cal Zero Waste manages a number of programs that aim to reduce and divert waste generation on campus. Click on each one below to learn more!

Approved Zero Waste Caterers and Facilities

The Zero Waste Event project was aims to assist all events at UC Berkeley in achieving zero waste. To accomplish this, Cal Zero Waste created an official zero waste certification checklist for both event caterers and facilities.

ReUSE projects focus on reducing waste and pulling reusable items (such as stationary, binders, books, and clothes) out of the waste stream and recirculating them both on-campus and within the Berkeley community.

Environmentally Preferred Products Roadshow

Once a semester, Cal Zero Waste hosts a road show event to showcase and promote environmentally preferred alternatives for common office supplies.

Zero Waste Labs

Cal Zero Waste is still working with several labs on campus to standardize the collection bins, divert more waste, and encourage purchasing of zero waste products.
