Environmental Services (Pest Management), provides consultation on pest prevention techniques for both indoor and outdoor areas including campus labs, offices, food areas, and housing units for all types of pests.
Due to the nature of the business, work may not be completed on the initial visit but will involve a process of repeated actions: inspection, treatment, monitoring, and education.

Due to concerns relating to the COVID-19 Virus the Department of Integrated Pest Management will significantly scale back its services provided to the Campus. Our focus during this crisis will be directed towards serving Housing, Dining, and Animal Research Facilities. Regrettably, this does not include staff and faculty member’s office spaces, libraries, or locations open to the public such as the A.S.U.C.
Request for Service:
When placing requests for services we are asking the Campus Community to only report issues relating to the following disease bearing pests.
• Rodents (Rats and Mice)
• Roaches.
• Fleas.
• Yellow Jackets (Meat Bees)
Requests involving other insects (ants, spiders, passive wasp species, flies, etc...) and other vertebrates (skunks, raccoons, deer, etc...) will not be acted upon.
Bed Bugs:
Bed bugs are not considered vectors of disease, however, the discomfort associated with these biting bugs necessitates a prompt response. Unfortunately, due to concerns over the COVID-19 Virus, we can no longer perform inspections of resident’s bed linen, mattress and other items within their living quarters. To that end, canine inspections will be used as a primary means of determining the presence of bed bugs.
The all too important process of interviewing a resident to determine risk factors for contact with bed bugs and other biting insects will continue. However, face to face interviews will be discontinued and phone interviews will be conducted instead.
