The HVAC Shop places a priority on maintaining a comfortable working and learning environment for students, faculty and staff. The shop maintains cooling and heating equipment controls and completes repairs to all environmental systems in buildings. The HVAC Shop is comprised of three service groups:
Steamfitters:
This unit maintains steam boilers, vacuum pumps, water softeners, reverse osmosis units, air compressors, supply fans, heat exchangers, heat circulating pumps, chilled water pumps and all underground high temperature and chilled water lines. They maintain and repair the water and steam distribution systems for the entire campus.
Refrigeration:
Refrigeration mechanics repair, install, and maintain all types of refrigeration systems and equipment such as central air-conditioning, food refrigeration and freezer facilities and equipment.
